recently, whenever outlook is open, the status bar says "updating inbox (3.99GB)" . So far I have: - deleted the ost file and let it rebuild - disabled all add-ons for Outlook - removed the outlook profile completely and let everything rebuild - taken a brand new laptop and setup it all up from scratch - disabled the AV on exchange server and client pc None of the above steps changed anything. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing.
In the problematic folders, you have the option to select "IMAP folders".
On the Send / Receive tab, in the Send & Receive group, choose Send/Receive Groups: 5.
Select a folder from the list of folders in the Folder Options section and then choose the option Download headers only.
Then, Outlook 2007 worked fine, for two weeks or so.
However, today, it started giving those "updating cached messages 250/xxx)" messages again, and I noticed that I have today exceeded 250 messages in my mailbox.
