Obviously there's definitely more gay people there than the average bar, but some cities I've noticed straight people aren't as comfortable at gay bars as we are in Anchorage. I lived in Denver for 3 years and this ultra liberal activist type woman in my A&P class asked me to go to a drag show at a gay bar with her once. Then she was shocked, “I can't believe you Kelli are willing to go to a gay bar.” Like she was happy about it haha, but I have no idea why she was so shocked.
I'm pretty sure the prejudice is worse in Denver and the community much less integrated.
